Changing Table to Sassy Drink/Food Server...

So once I stopped stressing about all the projects I had to do, I picked one to tackle and dove in!  I ordered the super expensive Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint from a source in Texas, in Anthibes Green.  I knew I wanted to use the piece on the patio, but having just moved in, I didn't have a design plan for the patio...the green just appealed to there you $58.00 later (with shipping) I received this dinky can of paint in the mail.  I have to admit, as soon as I started to paint, I fell in love!  This paint is SO easy to use, and it coats really well.  It had me at hello - when I didn't have to prime or prep!!! L-O-V-E

So here is the before:
It was literally a changing table from a high end boutique that recently closed.  I was lucky enough to live 3 houses down from a garage sale where this beauty was being offered for $30.00

I don't know if you can see them, but the drawer pulls are vintage door knobs that are sort of an egg shape...super cute!
This picture is pre-wax...I didn't think to order wax when I bought the paint, but realized that it would be important to have the paint sealed if I planned use it as a bar/serving piece.  I had some wax on hand from when we had our custom dining room table made, so I thought what the heck, it might work...and it did.  In fact, it did a really good job!
I used the piece for the first time this last weekend at my husband's 40th birthday party!

P.S. I loved the paint so much that I went to a local boutique to see if they would look in to being a stockist!  Fingers are crossed!!! At least that would cut out the shipping cost!

T-Ball - Fun Times!!!

I am very lucky to have two beautiful, healthy, strong-willed little girls - that being said - the strong-willed part drives me crazy!  My family tells me that it's only right that I would have children that are incredibly opinionated and head strong...I say that's just crazy!  I definately believe in the nature part of the nature vs. nurture argument, because I didn't teach them to be this way, they were BORN with it!

I played T-Ball, and then later Soft Ball - and I loved it, I was good at it... so it's hard to watch them wallow, not listen, do what they want, and really only get excited when they gets snacks at the end of the game, but alas, they are only 3 and 5 so, I'm hoping this is just part of it!

Here are some pictures of the little stinkers from tonight's game...

And then this is what the little one did the whole time...that is...
when she wasn't requesting a drink or snack!

You've got to love it...right?!

Furniture Project

If you recall from several months ago, I bought a couple of old furniture pieces for Ollie's room, that needed to be refinished...

I just need to take the missing mirror in to be replaced, because it is old and hazy and not really appropriate for a little girls room.

I have been working on a number of projects and have just finished main problem with being a blogger is remembering to take before and after pictures...mama's not so good at that part!!
I love seeing other people show all of their amazing before and afters,
so hopefully I will get better with time!

I will continue to post progress pictures from the house, the patio (which has been my main focus) and everything else in between.  I hope you're happy I'm back...even if it's just a little! :)

Worst Blogger In The Whole World Award...I deserve it!!!

Well, my last post was almost 4 months ago...I call that pretty pathetic.  Although, not to make excuses, we had just moved in to our house, had a TON of crap stuff to organize, a new pool to learn about, furniture to refinish, etc.  Anywho...I'm hopefully back...not that my 5 followers would really notice!!
